Ours is a full service clinical microbiology laboratory offering bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology, serology and infectious disease molecular diagnostics. We can help you best optimize the yield of microbiological analysis at every stage—from pre-analytical sample collection and handling to lab analysis and post-analytical reporting and test result interpretation. 

Our laboratory is staffed by talented and capable New York State-licensed medical technologists and medical technicians under the direction of an American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM)-certified laboratory director. While we continue to perform classical culture-based methods, we also pride ourselves in offering the latest sample-to-answer multiplex PCR technology that marries exquisite test sensitivity and specificity with significant reductions in turnaround time.

With more than 40 years of experience and 550 laboratory professionals, we efficiently manage and provide expert analysis for your clinical-trial research programs. Our expert staff includes an American Board of Medical Microbiology-certified Director of Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics, a staff of flow cytometry specialists, and a team of board-certified pathologists and dedicated project managers. We perform more than 15 million tests annually, with a test menu featuring more than 1,700 assays. Since 1994, we have provided central laboratory services for more than 2,300 clinical studies involving over 7,000 investigator sites.

The Most Requested Tests

Our physicians and patients choose us because we have the knowledge and experience to perform their microbiology analyses, as well as the capacity to move their specimens through the process quickly and efficiently without impacting test quality. The tests that we most frequently perform are:

• Bacterial culture for urinary tract infections, pharyngitis (sore throat), wounds/abscesses and respiratory infections.
• Bacterial susceptibility to provide guidance on effective antimicrobial treatment.
• Rapid PCR-based testing for C. difficile, influenza and stool (diarrheal) pathogens. 
• Sexually transmitted infections, including Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes and Trichomonas.
• Testing for Hepatitis (A, B and C), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Syphilis.
• Fungal and viral cultures for common skin infections.
